Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and observant Laundromat Attendant to monitor our facility during operating hours. The primary responsibility is to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our customers. This is an excellent position for someone looking for a low-intensity role that requires alertness, basic customer service, and light upkeep.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facility Oversight: Monitor the laundromat to ensure a safe environment, prevent vandalism, and ensure customers follow basic house rules.
- Customer Support: Answer basic questions about machine operations, change machines, or detergent vending options.
- Light Cleaning: Wipe down washers and dryers, clear lint traps, empty trash bins, and sweep floors to keep the space tidy.
- Equipment Reporting: Note any out-of-order machines and report them to management or maintenance technicians.
- Opening/Closing Duties: Lock or unlock doors, turn lights on/off, and secure the cash register or coin machines depending on the shift.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Dependability: Punctual and reliable with a strong sense of responsibility while working alone.
- Alertness: High situational awareness to spot facility issues, cleanliness needs, or security concerns.
- Communication: Friendly, polite, and helpful manner when interacting with community members.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to handle minor customer complaints or equipment issues calmly.
- Physical Ability: Able to stand, walk, and perform light lifting (like trash bags) periodically throughout the shift.
