Position is located in the local County Jail.
Responsibilities:
- Under limited supervision performs care coordination services for patients eligible for the medication assisted therapy program.
- This position is the primary nursing oversight for medication assisted therapy program for the inmate population.
- This nurse is responsible for assisting the jail health administrator in the development and implementation of program policies and procedures related to the service and support for evidence-based treatment of substance use disorders including opioid use disorder, which may include medications for opioid use disorder.
- She/he will oversee nursing activities, education, and training in providing nursing support services to the inmate population for substance use disorders.
- Works in environment with detainees and inmates.
- Reports to the Director of Nurses.
Education and Experience:
- ADN-Registered Nursing Licensure required upon hire and for duration of employment, 1 year of nursing experience with an administrative background or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities; to include—working knowledge of such programs as: Word, Excel, Goggle Docs.
- CPR certificate required upon hire and duration of employment.
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license required upon hire and duration of employment. Out of state driver’s license will be accepted only if the individual is a permanent resident of that state.
- Must take and successfully pass a pre-employment drug test, as well as submit to random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing.
